The festival venue will have around 100 stalls showcasing indigenous handloom, handicrafts and food of Manipur, Assam, Tripura and Bangladesh, it said.

She pointed out that ‘Singju’ is a great symbol of unity as it consists of plants grown in hills, valleys, water and underground. She further stressed the need for maintaining unity among the different ethnic groups like a ‘Singju’ in order to head towards a progressive society.
She stated that the festival was kept on hold for almost two years due to Covid pandemic. She appealed to the people of Manipur to support the festival and be a part of it and refrain from calling any sorts of bandh, strike or blockade during the 12-day festival.
Due to covid, the singju festival was not held in 2020 and 2021. The fifth edition of the fest was held at Wangjing in Thoubal district in 2019.
Convenor of 5th edition of the festival, Laimujam Pratap Singh conveyed that the festival was conducted under the theme “Save Our Indigenous Food, Culture and Integrity”. He also said that the singju festival aims at promoting this indigenous food, Singju.
